Green Bay Packers Legend Has Officially Retired At 36

A Green Bay Packers legend is officially calling it a career. Clay Matthews, a longtime NFL linebacker, is retiring at 36.

Matthews hasn't played in the NFL since 2019 when he was with the Los Angeles Rams.

However, there had been speculation he would one day play again in the NFL. It appears that speculation can be put to rest.

Matthew's playing days are over, as he told Brandon Carwile this Tuesday.

"Just spoke with former #Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, who confirmed he has unofficially retired from the NFL. Matthews last played for the Rams in 2019 and is Green Bay’s all time sack leader. 'My playing days are over,' he said,"

Clay Matthew spent nearly his entire NFL career in Green Bay before playing one year for the Rams.

He finishes his NFL career with 519 tackles and a staggering 91.5 sacks. He also recorded six picks.

Matthews is one of the most beloved players in Packers' history.

It'd be shame if the Packers didn't give him a one-day contract to retire in Green Bay.
